frequently asked questions

Salary within BENK is paid on the 27th of the month. Unless this date falls on the weekend or a holiday, then it will be paid out the business day before. Suppose the 27th falls on a Sunday, it will be paid on Friday the 25th.

Variables are defined as anything other than gross monthly earnings. Examples of variables include: travel reimbursement, claims, leave taken, sick hours, overtime, deductions, fines, etc.. Around the 20th of the month, salaries are processed and transmitted to our payroll office. All variables from previous month, known to us at that time, will be processed and paid out.

Because the variables are paid one month later, this means that the first salary you get from BENK will be without variables is.

Variables must be passed in the weekly statement in time for them to be included with the paycheck.

For variables in the form of declarations, for example a work lunch that has been advanced, a receipt is always needed. This can be appended to the weekly statement.

If employee is unable to perform his work due to illness or accident, employee must report this to employer by telephone in person and as soon as possible, but no later than 9 a.m. on the first day of illness. Notifications of illness via WhatsApp, e-mail or text message will not be accepted. Only when employee is absolutely unable to contact employer himself can the sick report be done by another person.

Within BENK we work with a digital hour registration system. In this system you can submit your weekly report every week for approval. You will receive the login for our digital time registration system in your mail at the start of your job. The login name is always your email address and the password is a short combination of letters and numbers.

When you log in to our digital hour system you will see an overview of all the weeks in the current year. In the upper left corner you can select other years under year with the down arrow.

You click on the week in which you want to enter your hours, at the top are the details of your assignment, the year, the week and the number of hours of your work week.
There are different hour types where you can enter hours, namely: hours, sick, leave, special leave (see article 3.5 of your employment contract), holidays, vacations and unpaid leave. Behind a bar with an hour type you see a pencil, when you click on it you can enter the number of hours corresponding to that hour type. After entering the hours, click on the green check mark in the same place as the pencil. You have now entered your hours.
It is possible to have your fixed number of hours per week automatically filled in by the system. Should this be your preference, please indicate this above all.

If you work from home, you must indicate this in your weekly statement in connection with any travel reimbursement. At the back of the hours type bar, before the pencil is a check mark for "work @ home." Check this box when you work at home. For example, if you worked 2 days at home and 3 days in the office you can click on "Add additional hour line" at the top, then fill in your other days here and turn on the check mark for work at home. Click the green check mark at the bottom right to add the extra line. You will now see 2 times the "hours" row.

You can also enter your mileage in the digital hour registration system when required. Click on "Add trip" in the mileage bar. Here you can add the date, zip code (PC), city, number of kilometers, option for return and a description. So you enter the kilometers one way and click return when needed. It is important to note that the system does a poor job of catching an address line that is too long.
In the lower right corner of the mileage tap, click the green check mark again. You have now added a ride. Only when you see your ride listed next, it has been added correctly.

If you need to add a claim, such as a fuel receipt or lunch advanced, you can add it. Click on "Add expense report" and add the date, amount and description. When you have added the expense report, click again on the green check mark in the lower right corner. You have now added the expense report to your timesheet.
A receipt is always required from a claim.

You can add an attachment to your weekly report, for example a receipt of a declaration or a timesheet from Third. You click on "Add" at the tab Attachments, add the appropriate document here, you will see your document now, then click on "Upload". It may take some time to upload the attachment. It is not possible to add a photo or Word document to your weekly report.

Should you wish to add a comment to your weekly statement, you can do so at memo.

If your entire weekly sheet is filled out correctly click on, Complete "Yes" at the bottom left of the page and then save the weekly sheet.

After setting the hours to complete, you can no longer change them. Should it happen that you want to change your timesheet afterwards, you can contact the info. You can reach us at info@benkprojects.nl or 010 30 74 216. We can reopen your weekly statement for you to adjust.

With some clients, a fiatteur approves the hours. After you have entered your hours, the approver can approve these hours. If the approver feels that something is incorrect or should be changed, you receive a message 'NOT approved' with any changes. You adjust this where necessary and submit the timesheet again for approval.

If the weekly statement is approved, you will receive a copy by email. This is for your own records.

Timesheets must be submitted every Monday by no later than noon. Failure to submit timesheets on time may result in a delay in salary payment. This will be at your own expense.

It could be that you have several projects within BENK, you can fill in hours on different projects at the same time with the same login. Under project you will find the customer, your function and your project description. To the right of this description you can change projects using the down arrow.

Paychecks are available each month in NMBRS. This is the platform our payroll office works with. NMBRS is available both online and via an app.

Login information for this portal will be sent around the 27th to the, email address known to us.

Annual statement and any other relevant documents will also be available only through this system.

It can happen that NMBRS gives the message 'payslip is being revised'. It may be that an adjustment is made in the batch of salaries, this does not directly mean that your payslip is adjusted, but everyone gets this message. The payslip will then become visible again, should you need your payslip at that time, the info can email it to you. We can be reached at info@benkprojects.nl or 010 30 74 216.

Leave and vacations must be submitted in writing to employer at least three working days in advance. Vacations longer than one week should be submitted in writing to employer at least six weeks in advance. If working for a client, this must be consulted with before vacations are taken.

You can find your leave balance in NMBRS. There you see your pay slip, which you can download each month and view at any time. At the bottom of your pay slip is an overview of your leave: how much you have taken, how much you have accrued and your current balance.

Please note that the balance is one month behind. This is because the processing of leave is always delayed by one month, for example due to variable hours.

Untaken (above) statutory vacation days expire, or become time-barred, in accordance with the law. The statutory expiration period for untaken statutory vacation days is six months after the calendar year in which employee accrued them.

For example, vacation days accrued by employee in 2024 but not taken in that year expire on July 01, 2025.

The statutory expiration period for unused excess vacation time is five years.
