I am Girish, 26 years old and I live in Heijplaat a small harbor village located in Rotterdam. I studied commercial economics in Rotterdam and Breda and in the latter, I still visit regularly. Since November 2023, I have been working at BENK PROJECTS OCE as a recruitment consultant.
By now I have two years of experience as a consultant. Before BENK I was working at a secondment and recruitment agency within the logistics world. The reason I made the switch is because I was ready for the next step in my career. I would like to develop myself further in the field of recruitment but in a broader sense. Fortunately I got this great opportunity at BENK to start this adventure together.
The position I hold is a very diverse position. First, you are busy with building and maintaining contacts within the oil & gas sector. Next to that I am constantly looking for new opportunities in the market and how we as BENK can connect to them. I am most interested in building up and expanding relationships within the oil & gas sector. Within BENK I am closely involved in the new developments and I also have a large share in this.
What I like most about my job is that you can really add value. Together with the contacts or candidates, you look at where the opportunities lie and give them advice that matches them. The dialogue you start with the candidate is really cool. I also love it when you can close a good deal for both parties: for our candidates, clients and BENK. A real win-win-win situation!
I also play soccer on a friends team. But now I play at a lower level, because I actually enjoy the third half more. I also like to visit the Feyenoord matches, you will find me there every home game. A great excuse to have a beer with my friends. I also love a festival. Rotterdam is really my city so you will see me there regularly.
