Dynniq Ring South Approach

Aanpak Ring Zuid is the large-scale reconstruction of Groningen's southern ring road. This most important gateway to the city is threatening to become congested due to Groningen's rapid growth. The conversion of the southern ring road will improve accessibility, traffic flow, quality of life and safety. The project is scheduled for completion in 2024, and work began in 2018.

Johan Drijver

realization manager at BENK PROJECTS

In my position as construction manager, I am responsible for the execution of the Ring South approach project in Groningen. Dynniq is a subcontractor of the Herepoort consortium, which is responsible for the construction of the ring road. We are responsible for converting the DVM system to the new situation. Cables and pipes are being laid in the rural area, there will be a tunnel with open sections and a sunken section. Together with the team of chief executives, subcontractors, engineers and work planners, we work in different phases of the project. Designs that I receive must be measurable for implementation, the testing department is involved and we ultimately ensure that the installation works. In short; we make sure that the traffic control center (VCOM) will soon be able to see and control everything that happens on the road.

On a previous project I was working on, I worked with BENK PROJECTS and that's how I got to know the organization. Subsequently, I had regular contact with Kevin and the moment this project came along I went for it. For this I am happy because it is a fun and challenging project to work on!

Peter Lebbink

engineer public lighting at BENK PROJECTS

For the project approach ring south I was responsible for the public lighting during the design phase of this project. As an engineer I was responsible for making the lighting design of the tunnel and the whole route towards the tunnel.

Before I joined BENK PROJECTS, I already had contacts with John and Joey, this goes back as far as 2006. Since then I have always kept in touch and joined at some point when BENK PROJECTS was established. My choice in this was pretty clear, the previous cooperation with experienced people in the industry and the contacts of John and Joey in this world were the choice for me to work for BENK PROJECTS. I see the future positively and I hope one day to do a project in the East of the country because that's where my roots are.
